Case History: Fire at bauli warehouse

Introduction
Phase A
Phase B
Phase C
Phase D

After the fire at the Bauli warehouse. Alfa professionals tried out their ability, tested on other occasions, to work as a team on a large-scale accident.
Bauli is a seasonal confectionery industry that produces goods sold as soon as they are made. The event took place at the beginning of the winter season, a time of top production and sales. Here we will illustrate the sequence in order to better understand the gravity of the damage and the difficulties that arose from the many-sided intervention.

October 1996. A fire breaks out in a warehouse containing finished goods: an industrial shed in reinforced concrete that is more than 10 meters high and with a surface of approximately 20,000 square meters. The shed is completely destroyed and the fire spreads to the raw materials deposit and to the packaging shed, depriving the company of almost all the available space. The timing is difficult, also due to Bauli’s urgent need to continue production and not lose the Christmas sales campaign.

Alfa’s experts meet and very rapidly define a plan in order to share the tasks and activities that must be carried out simultaneously.
Here is the sequence:
